A few months after Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard, it was announced that Diablo IV will be coming to the Game Pass.
In the recent podcast for updates on the Xbox business, Xbox President Sarah Bond announced that Activision Blizzard games will be coming to the Xbox Game Pass, starting with Diablo IV on March 28th, 2024.
“I’m excited to announce, with the coming together that we had with Activision Blizzard King, that Activision Blizzard games are coming to Game Pass starting with Diablo 4 on March 28, which I’m super, super excited to share today,”
“And it’s all part of our commitment to make Xbox, the Xbox experience, and the games that we build as widely available as possible,” she said. “So now the 34 million Game Pass members can all enjoy the fantastic experience of Diablo 4.”
This is not the first time Microsoft has acquired other studios in the game industry. A few years ago, Microsoft also acquired Bethesda and its sister companies, bringing many titles from the company onto the Xbox Game Pass.
Diablo IV is an action RPG adventure game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment released on June 5th, 2023, and has quickly become the fastest-selling game Blizzard has published, with the game reportedly being played for 93 million hours since its early access started on June 1st, 2023.
