Blizzard Entertainment has announced a collaboration between Diablo Immortal China with the popular Wuxia series, Legend of Sword and Fairy.
On 17th April 2024, the official Bilibili account for Diablo Immortal released a collaboration trailer, confirming that the two series will be coming together.
According to the official site, the collaboration will begin on April 24th, 2024, with various costumes of recognizable characters from the series being added, such as the protagonist Li Xiao Yao, the Leader of the Lunar Cult, and many more.
The story of the collaboration is set as the result during Li Xiao Yao’s battle with the Leader of the Lunar Cult, when in the middle of their fight, both of them were suddenly teleported into the Sanctuary of Diablo.
As Li Xiao Yao wakes up with his enemy nowhere to be found, and the feeling of evil once again encroaching the lands, he asks the players for help to defeat his enemy, seal the time rift, and keep the peace of both worlds.
In the special tower stage during the Diablo Immortal event, players will have a chance to use legendary abilities that are well-known in the original Legend of Sword and Fairy. As players invite more friends to challenge alongside them, more of these iconic abilities become available to the player, assisting them in defeating the forces of darkness and reclaiming peace for the Sanctuary.
Diablo Immortal is a free-to-play MMORPG mobile game, that was developed by Blizzard Entertainment and NetEase. The game was first released in North America and Europe on June 2nd 2022 before being published in China by NetEase on June 25th that same year.
