After the recent discoveries on the game’s app store page, it looks like the Devil May Cry mobile game is finally getting a beta.
Devil May Cry: Pinnacle Of Combat will be available for Chinese fans to try out on March 25th. It’ll be available to both Android and iOS users, so no worries about feeling left out because of your hardware. Aside from announcing the date of the beta, they also showed off gameplay of several playable characters in the game, including Vergil and Lady.
It’s unclear if all three characters would be playable in the Devil May Cry Mobile Beta, since the trailer was rather sparse on details. From what we saw though Vergil’s moveset seems more based on his latest appearance in DMC V, keeping his Embed Sword gimmick.
That being said, it doesn’t look like he’ll have his Concentration Meter, likely for simplicity’s sake on mobile. He does still have a variety of his unique moves such as the Summoned Swords, including Spiral Swords and the ability to rain the swords down to slow down enemies.
It’s unknown if Vergil will get his other weapons too, considering the trailer only shows him using the Yamato.
Similarly, Lady’s combat seems based off of her appearance in DMC 4, though very little of her gameplay was shown. The trailer didn’t show her using any of her unique mechanics like the grappling hook or charging her guns, though granted she got the shortest gameplay focus so we don’t know for sure.
You may notice their voices sound off, because they’re clearly not using the mainline game’s voice actors. Do with that as you will.
