The Pokémon Company has released a new animated short which follows Detective Pikachu attempting to solve the case of a missing flan from the fridge.
Titled “Detective Pikachu & the Mystery of the Missing Flan”, the new animated short is now available on YouTube in 19 different languages around the world.
Following his usual daily routine with an aromatic warm cup of coffee, Detective Pikachu flips through the newspapers and films himself for his social media presence before being interrupted by his human sidekick Tim.
Joining social influencer Pikachu for breakfast, Tim quickly realized that his flan had seemingly vanished from the fridge, so began a wild detective investigation to find out who stole Tim’s precious desert.
Not exactly a sequel to the live-action film which stars Ryan Reynolds and Justice Smith, this six-minute-long animated short features slapstick chaos and overloaded Pokémon cuteness with some crime mystery clichés thrown in.
The animated short is part of the marketing for the recent launch of the long-awaited Detective Pikachu Returns for the Nintendo Switch.
Following Pikachu as the great detective and his trusty sidekick Tim Goodman to solves various mysteries surrounding incidents that occur in Ryme City.
As mentioned, Detective Pikachu Returns is now available for the Nintendo Switch.
