Some new details regarding new Metal Slug games have been announced! It’s honestly still quite minimal, but SNK Corporation executive director Se-Hwan Jeon has revealed that the new Metal Slug game for console, first teased back in April 2019, is an action shooter planned for release in 2020.
In addition to this console game, a 2D side-scrolling card-type Metal Slug game is planned for mobile devices – namely iOS and Android – is also planned for launch sometime 2020. This latter game is said to be 80% complete in development. This game is also unrelated to a Tencent developed mobile game for the series.
The mobile game is supposedly targetting the 10 to 20 age bracket, while the console title is aimed for 30 to 40 years.
