Game developer Level-5 has just released new information and screenshots for the first episode of its upcoming Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and The Millionaires’ Conspiracy game, detailing its story and gameplay.
One of the hands of the clock on Big Ben has reported to be stolen just before the scheduled visit of a certain Ambassador Melarco. He will be receiving a pendant modelled after Big Ben as a sign of good will, but if the clock tower isn’t completed by then, England’s good name will be tainted. As such, the clock hand will have to be recovered before the start of the press conference.
If you have played any other installment in the franchise, the gameplay flow is fairly straightforward. Players will have to investigate incidents across various locales and examine “suspicious” places with their magnifying glass. The information you gather will be key to solve incidents while also collecting items which may be helpful in your mission.
As with every release in the Layton franchise, there are mini-games which expand the scope of gameplay as you progress. This time around there is this “The Ideal Dinner” minigame where players must fulfill requests of clients to serve them the ideal meal. More clients and cooking options will be made available to you as you progress.
Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and The Millionaires’ Conspiracy is scheduled for a release on 20 July 2017 out for 3DS in Japan, and for Android and iOS devices worldwide.
