It has been revealed on the official website that Demon Slayer Season 2 will premier during the fall 2021 anime season and will continue for two-cours into winter 2022.
This means that even though we don’t have an exact release date, the series will be starting sometime in October.
The series will air at 23:15 JST on Fuji TV every Sunday night. The second season will be following on from events of the movie Demon Slayer: Infinity Train and will be adapting the Entertainment District Arc from the manga.
As this arc takes place in a red-light district is will contain more sexually suggestive content but in an interview with Oricon, Fuji TV manager Yuriko Nakamura has stated that nothing will be edited or censored.
There will be more revealed about the Demon Slayer Season 2 on September 25th when Fuji TV airs the unedited cut of the Demon Slayer Movie. This will be followed by a recap of the first five episodes of the series and more information on the upcoming second season.
Originally created by Koyoharu Gotouge, the Demon Slayer series has seen immense success. The movie Demon Slayer: Infinity Train has become the highest-grossing anime movie of all time, breaking the record previously held by Studio’s Ghibli’s Spirited Away for almost two decades.
The first season of Demon Slayer is currently available on various streaming services. A fighting game based on the anime called Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles will also be releasing later this fall.
