Just as Demon Slayer season 2, The Entertainment District Arc has finished, Season 3 has already been announced on the Demon Slayer official Twitter account.
Demon Slayer Season 3 will be adapting the next arc in the story, The Swordsmith Village Arc. This was announced alongside a short teaser trailer for the upcoming season.
The animation for the season will continue to be done by Studio Ufotable who are also known for their Type-Moon and Tales Series adaptions.
The key visual of season 3 seems to highlight Tanjiro and the other main characters working with Muchiro Tokito, the Mist Hashira, and Mitsuri Kanroji, the love hashira. Both characters made minor appearances in the first season during the meeting with all the Hashiras but this will be the first time they play a major role in the story.
The plot synopsis of the season is that Tanjori must travel to Swordsmith Village to replace his sword following it breaking once again during the events of the Entertainment District Arc. During the Arc, the team is once again attacked by The Twelve Kizuki.
There is currently no release window for Demon Slayer season three however counting the current two seasons and the movie, a new arc of Demon Slayer has been released every year since 2019 so it’s likely that Season 3 will begin airing at the end of 2022 or in the first half of 2023.
The first two seasons of Demon Slayer, as well as the movie Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, are currently available in Southeast Asia on Netflix.
