Demon Slayer fans rejoice! Season 2 of Demon Slayer now has a release window in sight. This was confirmed earlier today by Yahoo! News Japan.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba season 2 will air in October 2021, giving it a fall release window. Other anime that will air this fall include the likes of The Rising of the Shield Hero season 2 and Komi Can’t Communicate.
The second season of Demon Slayer received its first trailer and key visual back in February of this year, where the only major announcement was its vague 2021 release.
Taking place after the events of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, Demon Slayer season 2 sees Tanjiro and his friends venturing forth into Tokyo’s red-light district. They will accompany the Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui as part of this new assignment.
Recently, the Mugen Train movie made history once more by not only breaking the US record for best opening weekend for a Japanese animation, but it also broke the US record for best foreign language film opening weekend. Thanks to the boost from US theatre sales, it is now the highest-grossing film of 2020, sitting at a worldwide gross of $477,020,000 at the time of writing.
If you are still torn on whether or not to watch the movie, feel free to read our review.
