Sony Interactive Entertainment and Kojima Productions have officially announced that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025, with a standard retail price of $69.99. Pre-orders for the highly anticipated sequel will open on March 17.
The announcement came during a special panel at SXSW in Austin, Texas, where game director Hideo Kojima appeared alongside cast members Norman Reedus, Troy Baker, and musician Woodkid, who contributed an original song titled “To The Wilder” for the game.
Players who pre-order any edition of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will receive several in-game bonuses, including an early unlock of “Custom Hologram: Quokka,” as well as Silver variants of the Battle, Boost, and Bokka Skeletons (all available in levels 1, 2, and 3).
For those looking for additional content, the Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at $79.99 and includes Gold variants of the same skeletons, an early unlock of the “Machine Gun (MP Bullets) LV1,” and three exclusive patches: “Patch 70: Quokka,” “Patch 71: Chiral Feline,” and “Patch 72: Why Me?” Purchasers of this edition will also gain 48-hour early access to the game, allowing them to begin playing on June 24.

Collectors can opt for the premium Collector’s Edition at $229.99, which includes a collector’s box, digital download of the full game, a 15-inch Magellan Man statue, a three-inch Dollman figurine, a set of art cards, a letter from Hideo Kojima, and all the in-game items from the Digital Deluxe Edition, along with the same 48-hour early access benefit.
