Survive 72 hours in hell! ’72HOUR MODE’
With communications and roads blocked off, Willamette feels like it’s under martial law. Sensing a big scoop, photojournalist Frank West dives into Willamette Parkview Mall, which has turned into a literal ‘hell’ due to a zombie outbreak. There are 72 hours left until rescue arrives. How will Frank survive?”
“72HOUR MODE’ is the main gameplay mode of this title. The objective is to survive 72 hours in the zombie-infested shopping mall from September 19 to September 22. Will you lock yourself in a safe place and wait for the time to pass? Or will you bravely take action to uncover the scoop, or rather, the truth behind the incident? How you spend the ticking seconds is entirely up to you, the player.
“Get the ‘scoop'”!
Inside the zombie-infested shopping mall, trouble involving survivors and events leading to the truth behind the zombie panic, known as ‘scoops,’ are constantly unfolding. For the protagonist, Frank West, who visits the mall in search of breaking news, no ‘scoop’ can be missed. Deciding which scene to rush to and which ‘scoop’ to tackle first is crucial.
Information about scoops can be obtained via radio. In ‘Deluxe Remaster,’ you can now perform actions while on a radio call. Additionally, gameplay has been improved so that calls are not interrupted even when you are attacked.
Don’t miss your chance to snap the perfect shot!
Photojournalist Frank always has his camera in hand. In addition to numerous shooting points throughout the mall, make sure to capture any incidents or dramatic moments you encounter. The better the photos, the more ‘PP’ you’ll earn, which will be explained later.
Level up Frank with scoop resolutions and photo shoots!
Solve various troubles and incidents, known as scoops, occurring in the mall, and earn ‘PP (Prestige Points)’ from taking photos. By acquiring PP, Frank levels up. As Frank levels up, his attack power, health, item stock, and other stats increase, and he acquires various ‘skills.’ Here are some of the diverse skills available. The controls have also been modernized to allow for more intuitive use of these skills in this version.
Notable Characters
Brad Garrison
A veteran agent from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). He relies more on intuition than logic, but his performance on the ground is reliable. By chance, he ends up working with Frank.
Jessie McCarney
A rookie agent and Brad’s colleague, commonly known as Jessie. Unlike Brad, who is active on the ground, Jessie excels in information processing skills. She tries to compensate for her lack of experience with hard work, but sometimes it ends up being in vain.
Russell Barnaby
A nervous old man. He is the person Brad and Jessie are searching for. He seems to have been lured to the mall by someone and then caught up in the zombie panic.
Psychopaths
Humans driven to the brink of madness who have lost their reason and sanity. Controlled by insanity and malice, they are even more terrifying than zombies.
Prisoners
Prisoners who escaped from the penitentiary amid the chaos of the zombie panic. They are dangerous individuals who drive around in stolen military vehicles, acting on their every desire.
Steven Chapman
The manager of the supermarket inside the mall. He will not tolerate anyone entering his store, which he has built up himself, and will attack with a furious expression.
Larry Chiang
A large man working in the meat processing plant in the mall’s basement. Despite the zombie panic, he continues to work cheerfully, but it’s unclear where he is sourcing the meat from.
