The Epic Games Store exclusivity window for Dead Island 2 is coming to an end and the game will hit the Steam stores for PC gamers.
After being exclusive to Epic Games Store for about a year, the PC version of Dead Island 2 will be released on Steam on April 22, 2024, publisher Deep Silver has announced.
To coincide with the news, Deep Silver is also celebrating the announcement with promotions centered around the franchise.
Kicking things off, Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition is currently free to redeem and keep on Steam until February 15, 2024.
Meanwhile, Dead Island Definitive Edition and Dead Island: Retro Revenge are having an 85% and 75% discount on Steam respectively.
The zombie action RPG was first announced in 2014 but suffered a series of delays during production until eventually Dambuster Studios, an internal Deep Silver studio, took over development in 2019.
After almost a decade, the game was finally released on April 21, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
The game exceeded expectations at launch, surpassing more than one million copies sold in just three days.
In our Dead Island 2 review, we praised the game and said “It’s simple but it’s the best kind of simple: hitting undead yuppies in the face and blowing them up.”
