Embark on your adventure in Darkness Rises by being better prepared through knowing game mechanics to heart.  As they say, knowing is half the battle won, so here is the essentials that you will need to bear in mind.

Decide on a hero

With the four classes, namely the Warrior, Wizard, Berserker, and Assassin, who you pick depends pretty much on your play style. For example, the Warrior is better suited for dealing big damage and having high survivability, while the Assassin trades both of those being more agile.

Pick the right skills

As there are PVP and PVE modes in Darkness Rises, knowing what skills to equip for the right mode is imperative. For example in PVP, you will want abilities that let better fight one on one battles and disable your opponents. PVE on the other hand will favour crowd control abilities for the most part.

Upgrade stats

Again, this is very much dependent on your play style, but whenever you have the sufficient resources, always upgrade your stats. Plan ahead on what you want to put your money into as it becomes a rather expensive affair down the line.

Pay attention to dailies and rewards

If you plan to play a lot, this should come naturally, but if you only have a bit of time to spare each day playing, be sure to check the quest tabs on what you need to do and be rewarded accordingly. This way, you will not be lagging too far behind other players who grind out and can still catch up later.

Put your Blacksmith to work

Either when starting the game for the day or before logging off, be sure that your blacksmith is at work on something. Craft Polishing takes up an entire day, and let your blacksmith complete the task while you are away offline instead of wasting precious gems to expedite the process.
