Dawnwalker has been announced to be the debut title from Rebel Wolves, a newly formed studio spearheaded by former CD Projekt Red developers.
Unveiled through an official post on Twitter, the announcement of Dawnwalker was accompanied by promotional art that depicts a swordsman leaping from the shadows in midair.
The developers did not share more details aside from the title and a key visual, however, the name and aesthetic heavily hint towards a dark fantasy setting and perhaps themed after the Transylvanian horrors of vampires based on the visual style.
What we do know is that the game is being billed as the team’s dream RPG project and has officially entered the alpha stage of development, with more information to be revealed later this year, as reported by Game Informer.
As mentioned, Rebel Wolves is a new development studio consisting of veterans from Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher series developer CD Projekt Red.
Last week, the studio also appointed Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz as the Creative Director, an industry veteran who has worked on the critically acclaimed The Witcher 3 as a lead quest designer, as well as helped shape up quests in Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion DLC, Phantom Liberty.
“We want to craft a world that you will want to explore and dive deep into and tell stories that make you care about the characters,” said Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz.
“We aim to deliver an experience that will allow for a variety of choices and room for experimentation when replayed.”
“Helping craft this experience with so many talented people will be my mission at Rebel Wolves, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what the team has been up to for quite a while now.”
