Bushiroad has announced that the upcoming English release of D4DJ would not be sharing the same build as its Japanese counterpart, and would therefore not be getting all the same content.
In a Blog post, the team said they understood that this decision would be running counter to what they had previously promised. However, they said that the apps had to be kept separate due to licensing issues pertaining to the game’s music.
As a consequence of the licensing issues, they also said fans who had been following all the Japanese events could expect that some of them would not carry over once the English Build of D4DJ launches.
The developers did not comment on which events or songs in particular would not carry over.
That being said, Bushiroad also announced that they would be helping migrate accounts for fans who started the game in Japanese, but were anticipating an English release.
“For existing players who would like to play the game in English, you will be able to transfer your account from the Japanese version to the English version. We have tried our best to ensure that all your data may be ported over smoothly to the global version, barring certain event items that are unavailable in the English version, in which case you will receive the appropriate compensation for them”, the blog reads.
They also promised a shorter delay between the events for the English and Japanese versions of the game, so English players wouldn’t have to wait too long to catch up.
