Despite the rapid demise of Black Stella: Inferno, CyberStep still has plans to release a “completely new game project” using the property alongside ORCUS INC to develop the title for mobile. The announcement comes with a new trailer with a glimpse of gameplay:
The new Black Stella project appears to be a turn-based battle game with three party members having active skills and the usual fanfare in special abilities. The company has plans to launch it in Spring 2023. There looks to be no change regarding the game’s story, characters, and staff, much like with Inferno. Assets from Inferno have been duly repurposed for the teaser gameplay which makes economic sense. You can check out our first impressions of the Inferno game here to see what else you can expect from this latest release.
CyberStep did not include a link to ORCUS’ website so it’s hard to determine who else has been brought on for this project. They are supposedly some “scenario production” company, despite the fact they already have a story in place.
Incidentally, CyberStep has had involvement in NFT projects such as this one alongside Gauidy and Toreba. Presumably we would be learning if Black Stella will go the same way in time.
