At the latest Cyberpunk 2077 livestream, CD Projekt Red showed of several new features of the game in more detail. They talked about how vehicles in the game would work, as well as the fashion and style of the game.
In this featurette, CD Projekt Red talks about cars in the game. There are several classes of vehicles to choose from, running the gamut of scrappy economy vehicles to executive cars to even massive armored trucks.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a futuristic game without some true future cars. In the featurette they also showed two more classes of car for those who prefer to live life on the edge. One of these is cars built for street racing, so you can compete in the game’s races or simply outrun the cops.
Additionally, the game’s hypercar class screams peak futurism. These high-tech cars come equipped with all sorts of futuristic flourishes, and have the most alien designs.
Before the featurette closes out, however, they also made sure to tease the inclusion of a Real-World car in the game. Based on the headlights, it looks like it’s going to be a Porsche, though the exact model is unkown.
The Styles Of Cyberpunk 2077
It’s not just cars, though. The livestream featured a second featurette, talking about the 4 main styles you’ll see during your adventures in Night City. These are Kitsch, Entropism, Neomilitarism and Neokitsch.
These 4 schools of design in Cyberpunk mainly rotate around the questions of style vs substance, with Kitsch focusing on the visual appeal, while Entropism and Neomilitarism focus on more utilitarian approaches. Neokitsch is a fashion style many people should be familiar with, as it’s all about the punk-inspired Kitsch but co-opted by celebrities and turned into “high fashion”.
This isn’t all about fashion, though. You can see these four design elements everywhere, including the game’s augments and weaponry. It’s a nice reflection of real life, with products being designed based on design philosophy.
Cyberpunk 2077 will release on November 19th for PS4, PC and Xbox One. Additionally, the game will also feature enhanced performance on next-gen consoles. These versions will be available as a free upgrade.
