Cuphead is perhaps one of the more recent success stories for indie releases, with the game having sold more than 300,000 copies for the PC, and an unspecified number on the Xbox One. The game has been heralded for its amazing gameplay and difficulty alike, in addition to its unique art style.
Being a successful game, it is inevitable that there are parties that wish to capitalise on it, and sure enough there are several Cuphead clones have already been released on Android. These clones are curiously named, going by the titles like Cuphaed Adventure (not a typo) Jump CupHead Jump!, and Cup Hero Head, among others. The copycats highlight the “classic action” gameplay and the art style, which are the two highlights for Cuphead.
The whole idea is to lure in unsuspecting fans who do not realise that Cuphead isn’t made available for Android in any official capacity. The reviews do reflect this of course, with many bad reviews suggesting that a majority of people who downloaded were curious. However, now that you know better, avoid these apps at all cost, lest you risk getting malware.
