Grand Alliance from Crunchyroll Games has announced its shut down, set for 31 May, just over six months since it started service on 23 September 2020. The notice given via its official Twitter reads as follows:
Thank you, Heroes, for your incredible support on our journey to restore the Alcyon Empire. Today, we must share that Grand Alliance will be coming to an end on May 31, 2021, 7:00 UTC.
In advance of sunsetting the game, in-app purchases will be available until April 6, 2021 0:00 UTC when the game’s payment system will be turned off. THereafter, the game will not be accepting any in-app payments or refunds.
From all of the partners involved in Grand Alliance, Viz, and Crunchyroll Games, we thank you all for your support of the game. We hope you continue to enjoy the world of Grand Alliance for the rest of our adventure together.
The Grand Alliance Twitter had also been silent since January, so the shut down announcement hardly seems surprising. It’s too bad for those who had been enjoying the game. We’ll see if they intend to do any last events or wrap up bonuses before the servers go offline for good so that people can play it through that little bit more.
