Valve has recently announced Counter-Strike 2 and with it a Limited Test, however invites are given to players who pass the following criteria:
Players are selected based on a number of factors deemed important by the Counter-Strike 2 development team, including (but not limited to) recent playtime on Valve official servers, trust factor, and Steam account standing.
Players who are chosen to participate will receive a notification on the main menu of their CS:GO and would need to select “ENROLL” to initiate a download.
Once that is done, players can select the “Limited Test” option when launching CS:GO to participate.
However, Valve also mentions that more players will be added to the Limited Test over time and players should keep checking their CS:GO main menu to see if an invite has been received.
At time of writing, no specified date was given as to how long the Limited Test would run, only that Counter-Strike 2 is expected to ship Summer 2023 and that the Limited Test is only available for Windows.
Players can also earn XP which will carry over to CS:GO while also given the opportunity to use all of their weapon finishes, stickers, and other CS:GO inventory in Counter-Strike 2.
