Stairway Games, the developer for farming sim Coral Island has declared that the Indiegogo page for Coral Island is not made by them.
The developer has requested the public not to pledge to Coral Island on Indiegogo. Apparently, Stairway Games also contacted Indiegogo to have the page removed. You can read the response from the developer on Twitter.
PSA: DO NOT PLEDGE ON CORAL ISLAND INDIEGOGO
Coral Island's page on Indiegogo is not officially made by us. We're contacting Indiegogo to have the page taken down.
A pre-order store on Backerkit will be up very soon and we will announce it here. Thank you!🌴#gamedev

At the time of writing, the fake Indiegogo campaign has raised just over $4,000 USD from 63 backers. While it is unknown who or what party is running this scam, it is unfortunate that they have profited off Stairway Games’ hard work.
The fake campaign on Indiegogo is an exact duplicate of Coral Island‘s Kickstarter page. The Kickstarter page is a legitimate crowdfunding campaign ran by Stairway Games. A true success story, the developer managed to raise over 1.6 million USD for the project. Thanks to more than 36,000 backers, the project met all of its stretch goals.
The Yogyakarta, Indonesia-based developer plans to officially launch the game later this year in October. Players can plant crops, raise animals, go fishing, and perform many other activities in this island-based farming sim.
For those who wish to pre-order the game, stay tuned to the game’s Twitter account. Players will be able to pre-order the game on Backerkit soon.
