In a recent press release, Cookie Run franchise developer Devsisters spoke about their accomplishments over 2021 and future plans and investments, one of which may include bringing some of the Cookie Run games to Steam.
While speaking about the latest game in the franchise, Cookie Run Oven Smash (working title), the press release writes that:
“Devsisters and Press A recently expanded their service plans to mobile as well as Steam, and are aiming for global service in the second half of next year. The plan is to cover both existing Cookie Run users who are familiar with mobile and mid-core gamers who prefer PC platforms”
While it isn’t an exact confirmation and it doesn’t say which games they’d bring to the PC platform, it seems to indicate that Cookie Run on Steam is at least one direction that Devsisters want to take the franchise.
Cookie Run Oven Smash will be the first 3D cookie run game. It is being co-develop with Korean studio Press A and is a MOBA in the style of games like League of Legends and Pokemon Unite.
Devsisters said they believe that game will be important in expanding the Cookie Run IP alongside the popular Cookie Run Kingdom, which was released at the beginning of this year. Cookie Run Kingdom recently surpassed 30 million downloads.
Cookie Run games including Kingdom and OvenBreak are available for mobile devices.
