Contra Reboot For Mobile Adds Multiplayer Features! (+Our Gameplay Video)

Contra was first developed in 1987 for the arcades. In the last month, Chinese developer Tencent Games and Konami are working together to reboot the game onto the mobile platform. Now they have released more information on what they have in store for us! The game will feature a multiplayer mode where we can play online co-op with friends.

While the iconic characters like Bill and Lance stays in the mobile version of the game, other classic elements of the games stayed; side-scrolling view, waves of enemies, rains of bullets. Tencent Games and Konami has also added features like daily events, weapon upgrades, special skills, level system, RNG and many more. It seems like what we would expect to have in mobile RPGs with these systems.

One thing that is changed in this mobile version of Contra is that the characters no longer die from a single hit. The characters will have a HP bar which will allow players to enjoy and play the game longer. They have also tossed in classic maps and enemies from the original Contra series and of course along with new ones too.
