Pearl Abyss has announced that Black Desert Online console players on Playstation 4 and Xbox One will be able to join online with the implementation of cross-play support. This will take it to effect from 4 March.
Black Desert is an open-world action MMORPG with cutting-edge visuals and a skill-based combat system that redefines the genre. Black Desert has the most developed character customization system of any game that is currently on the market, allowing users to become their true selves with unique avatars. The MMO is known for its intuitive controls, beautifully designed world and extensive lore, which has successfully launched in over 150 countries and 12 languages to more than 30 million registered users.
The versions of the game for Playstation 4 and Xbox One are not synced at present, so we’ll have to see how Pearl Abyss handles the disparity. Whatever it is, there’d likely be an uptick of activity as the two platforms consolidate their content.
It’s not very long now, so Black Desert Online console players will need to figure out how to best utilize the cross-play support. We’ll have to see how Pearl Abyss intends to sync the game content as well to ensure a certain level of fairness.
