After a delay, Code Geass Genesic ReCode is to launch at 15:00 JST at time of writing, with pre-downloads available. To be more precise, it’s closer to a pre-installation as you won’t be able to access the game until the appointed hour. The game also hit the 1 million pre-registration mark, so players will be getting 4,000 premium currency as a gift.
Five lucky Japanese residents stand to get themselves complete Blu-ray box sets and comics of the franchise by participating in the 800,000 pre-registration milestone giveaway. Pre-registrations will remain open until the actual launch of Code Geass Genesic ReCode.
From what we know of the game so far, the story seems to revolve around the theme of “revenge” – apparently over a million words in length – with two “modes”: one looking to be the main story to delve deeper into the series’ mysteries and the other leaning more towards the predecessor characters. Additionally, there will also be other stories within the game, one of which revealed to be the “Crimson of the Blood Pact” arc.
Two Battle Modes were previewed at an earlier livestream event. The story mode ones see units appearing as chibi characters, where you can unleash your Geass in the fight. The other will see you command both Knightmare Frames and characters, one implied to be a more strategic mode.
