GungHo Online Entertainment has announced the LUNAR Remastered Collection, a compilation of two classic JRPGs: LUNAR: Silver Star Story and LUNAR 2: Eternal Blue. GungHo Online Entertainment will release the collection in spring 2025 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
The LUNAR series, which gained popularity in the West during the 1990s, is often credited as one of the pioneering JRPGs that helped shape the genre. This remastered collection aims to introduce these iconic titles to a new generation of players while offering a nostalgic experience for longtime fans.
Asca Akiyama, Product Coordinator at GungHo Online Entertainment America, shared details about the remaster on a PlayStation Blog post. The updated versions will boast several enhancements, such as widescreen support, improved pixel art, HD animated cutscenes, and new English voice acting.
Players will have the option to switch between original and remastered visuals, adjust battle speed, and benefit from improved strategy settings. The collection will also introduce German and French language options alongside English and Japanese.
This release marks the return of the LUNAR series to PlayStation platforms after more than 25 years, offering both new and longtime fans the chance to experience these influential JRPGs with modern improvements.
