Civilization VI free on the Epic Games Store

Games are, as usual, taking turns going for free on the Epic Games Store, with the next in line being Civilization VI. The 4X turn-based strategy game will be available to redeem until 11 AM EDT on 28 May. It’s pretty good timing, considering the first pieces of the game’s New Frontier Pass is available, introducing new leaders in Lady Six Sky of the Maya and Simón Bolívar of the Gran Colombia civilization.

The Maya & Gran Columbia Pack is one of six add-ons to be part of the pass, which in total will add eight new civilizations to the base game. Besides the leaders, buildings and units from the respective civilizations, a new Apocalypse game mode, new City-States, Resources and Natural Wonders have also been added. Civilization VI released in October 2016 for Mac and Windows PC, arriving to iOS in 2017, Nintendo Switch in 2018, and finally, Playstation 4 and Xbox One in 2019.

Besides giving away Civilization VI for free, Epic Games is also running a four-week sale on games simply dubbed the “Mega Sale” on their store. Discounts up to 75% off on a variety of PC games will be up for grabs for the discerning PC gamer. If nothing else, you might as well just wait around and claim all the free games.
