Square Enix has announced the release date for Chocobo GP, the revival of their mascot racing game featuring Chocobos coming to Nintendo Switch.
In a new trailer, we got our first proper look at both the gameplay as well as the release date for Chocobo GP, which releases March 10th, 2022.
The game will be a casual kart racer a la Mario Kart, and will feature a variety of characters from the iconic Chocobo to even characters from FFIX like Vivi and the obligatory Chocobo, but more typically designed like a girl.
The game will feature a variety of game types, from its own story mode letting you play out a new story featuring the racers of the Chocobo GP, giving you a pretty good way to spend your time when you’re not online.
If you’re leaning more to the thrill of a race however, there’s plenty to do there, too with a ghost mode for racing against recordings of other racers, as well as a Time Attack to test your own racing skill.
Finally, for those truly competitive souls., you’ll be able to play the Chocobo GP mode online, which lets you compete with up to 64 players in knockout tournaments to find out who’s truly the best Chocobo racer.
