SCRYsoft has announced the release window of the upcoming horror title Chiyo, saying it would be out by the final quarter of the year.
They confirmed that Chiyo would release in Q4 2023, which presumably means we could be getting it by December of this year.
In a press release today they confirmed that they would be publishing Chiyo on Steam and PlayStation, though no exact release date for the game was given.
“This game has so many elements and mechanics to it that would make for such a great atmospheric and fun experience. I can’t wait for the players to see what we’ve been working on”says Ian Heng, Lead Publisher at SCRYsoft.
Here’s the description for Chiyo, courtesy of SCRYsoft:
Chiyo is a first-person escape room atmospheric horror game set in Japan’s Edo era.
As Idate Chiyo, a paranormal investigator possessing supernatural abilities, players are tasked with investigating an abandoned mansion and unveiling dark family secrets.
Through solving puzzles and navigating their way through narrow hallways and atmospheric horror, the player will face sinister challenges to find the lore surrounding the abandoned mansion.
Nimbus Games had won big with Chiyo at this year’s SEA Game Awards, with the title picking up the Best Audio Design category.
They’ve published multiple titles in the past, including the game Malice, with their newest title taking place in the same universe.
