Pavilion Bukit Jalil has made a contract and is gearing its chainsaws to prepare an exciting new Pop Up at the ACO LAB anime cafe with its newest collaboration with Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man! Today, we had the opportunity to visit the Pop Up before its release to the public, which starts on April 19 until June 17 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

It is very safe to say this experience did not go wasted, with carefully crafted activities linked to the theme of the franchise and a chockfull of merchandise and meals to enjoy! And with the franchise’s upcoming film, Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc coming to Malaysian cinemas this October, this exhibition is set to be a sweet treat for all fans.
The Pop Up is divided between the themed cafe, the merchandise store and a Photo Zone. Both the cafe and the store are free to the public for visitation whereas the Photo Zone can only be entered if you have already purchased a ticket beforehand.
Photo Zone / Game Area
The entrance to the Photo Zone is covered behind a black backdrop with red strikes of paint, and a door decorated in barricading tape. Upon entry, we are greeted by life-sized cardboard cutouts of the Public Safety division – ranging from the popular lineup of Denji, Power, Aki Hayakawa, Makima and many more familiar faces. Because of their life-sized heights, they are scattered across the room where guests can take photos with each character and strike all sorts of fun and dashing poses.

Moving on deeper into the room, you will then find the Game Area section, where you can play your hand at two different activities that will test your agility, timing and memory to the fullest.
Battle Against The Demons
As a reference to Power’s very first introduction into the series, where she smashes the Sea Cucumber Devil with her blood hammer leaving trails of devil across the streets, Battle Against The Demons allows the player to have four hammers each, all used to knock down any or all demon targets.
Certain targets may change in difficulty and position, so do not expect the rules to be so simple. Players can aim and throw their hammers within the time limit, but the round will end when all hammers are thrown.

If at least three demons are knocked down using the four hammers, then that player wins.
Finding Pochita
As straightforward as the name suggests, attendees who play this game must one Pochita among 21 variations of the orange pup. That specific Pochita is chosen by the staff and players can only differentiate between the right Pochita and the wrong Pochita through sense of touch. Meaning players must feel the shape of Pochita with their hands strictly without looking.

You will only have 15 seconds to guess and choose the right one, the player who manages to guess within those 15 seconds is the winner. And if not one person finds the correct Pochita, then no one wins. Players only get one chance at a right answer, so be quick and agile about your choice when you play.

As you walk around the area, there will be a merchandise preview room with various displays of Chainsaw Man collectibles and merchandise, such as different sized Pochita plushies, Chainsaw Man character mugs and acrylic standees, cards, badges, keychains, backpacks, stationery and so much more.

Merchandise Store
After visiting the Photo Zone, the merchandise store will feature all the displayed merch that was previously put up during the Photo Zone and with many more choices to browse. Additionally, the store also features a Chainsaw Man themed photobooth in the corner where you can take some memorable photos to commemorate your visit for the price of RM20.

One of the more notable items that caught our eyes was the Chainsaw Man head-shaped tissue box. As it was a quirky and reliable piece fit for storing tissues and a great mantlepiece on any table.

Shelves of merchandise stacked with all of Chainsaw Man’s characters come at an average price of RM25 for smaller collectibles and a higher price of RM100 and above for larger items.
Chainsaw Man Cafe
The Chainsaw Man themed cafe comes with a selection of meals based on each characters personality, ranging from the Chainsaw Man Burger, Power Hammer Rice, Makima Udon Feast and Aki Veggie Curry. Desserts and drinks are included in the menu to liven the set and pop up your taste buds.
We tested our taste buds with the Aki Veggie Curry and the Chainsaw Man Burger. Afterwards cleansing our palettes with the Denji Orange Juice and Makima’s Roselle Tea to make room for the Denji Honey Butter Toast.
All in all, in terms of flavor, it is nothing overtly spectacular, but it still a very edible meal. What will strike you is the effort of presentation put into the food. Each dish is crafted to carefully capture the essence of the character it is representing, making it a very photogenic meal.
But if a dish has truly won our hearts in terms of presentation and taste, then the Pochita Pudding is a definite must-try!

The cafe also includes a Chainsaw Man Kokoro statue, along with various character standees and table setups and themed decorations outside the cafe with different character artworks.

Inside you will see a large TV screen playing the entirety of Chainsaw Man Season 1. Allowing for full immersion as you step in the world of the franchise while you dine.

To conclude this experience, whether you’re a fan with multiple goals in mind when it comes to visiting this event, whether it be for the food, the merch or just the experience, the Chainsaw Man Pop Up is definitely a must-visit for all fans of the franchise.
When it comes to package value, the RM25 package would be the best buy from us, as you get one drink and full access to the entire event, allowing a worthwhile experience while sparing no expense. While it lacks more iconic recreations, the atmosphere was still fun and an overall wonderful celebration of the series.
