The Tower Records Chainsaw Man Exhibition opens today, celebrating the popular shonen manga in Shibuya’s SpaceHACHIKAI event space.
The exhibition is by appointment only to control crowd numbers, and you can sign up to book an appointment at the event’s website.
Those who do get in will have plenty to admire, with a replica of Hayakawa’s living room from the manga, as well as illustrations from the manga itself.
Of course, the star of the exhibition is the life-sized statue of Chainsaw Man himself, complete with details that show the back of his head isn’t made of engine parts, but rather the chains on a chainsaw.
On top of that there’ll be plenty of merchandise for fans to buy, such as illustrations, pins and the like., There’ll also be framed prints featuring the art from the manga.
Chainsaw Man follows Denji, a young man who becomes a devil hunter along with his own pet devil Pochita, a dog with a chainsaw. After a traumatic event he fuses with Pochita to become Chainsaw Man, a chainsaw-wielding devil as he fights for the approval of his boss Makima and makes new friends in the Devil Hunter business.
The manga’s main plot ended in December of 2020, but the author has mentioned that a part 2 has been planned, following up from the events of the ending. An anime has also been announced for Part 1 of Chainsaw Man.
