Good Smile Company has announced a line of Bunny Girl statues based on the Chainsaw Man anime- but like a devil’s contract, they’re not without their costs.
Announced for pre order, you can get Bunny Girl versions of Power and Makima – two of the most popular characters from Chainsaw Man via their website.
Unfortunately be prepared to pay a heavy cost, since each heroine will set you back 38,500 Yen- RM1293 or almost 300 USD.
These figures include some incredibly detailed sculpts- from expressive faces to even very subtle muscle impressions to match their poses.
The Luxury Of Bunny Girls
In their defense, they’re a lot larger than your average scale figure- both bunny girls are made at 1/4 scale, standing approximately 50cm in height.
This is in contrast to a lot of scale figures, which tend to be around 1/7 scale– closer to the 24.5 cm side in terms of height.
One anonymous figure collector chimed in, saying that you could attribute the price to a lot of factors, including character popularity.
“I usually wouldn’t pay that much for a figure unless there are addtional accessories that come with the [figure]”, she says. “But then again, prices are usually determined by the popularity of the character”.
A cursory glance shows it to be true- a similar 1/4 scale figure of Mamako Oosuki from Do You Love Your Mother And Her Two-Hit Multi Target Attacks only goes for 33,000 yen- 1.1k MYR but still slightly cheaper than the Chainsaw Man girls.
It’s a reminder that anime figure collecting is a luxury hobby- if you appreciate things like intricate sculpting of character arm muscles, you’re sure to be able to rationalize burning some of that disposable income.
