Even though games based on popular anime is by no means a new thing, this one in particular, while welcomed, feels somewhat overdue. In any case, China-based gaming giant NetEase announced that it has an officially licensed mobile game based on the A Certain Magical Index series.
A Certain Magical Index is a open world anime action game where players are thrust into Academy City to do battle with familiar characters such as Kamijo Toma and Misaka Mikoto. All characters will feature their own unique skills and abilities, so some thought will have to be put into tackling each opponent.
The game will feature an original storyline borrowing lore and elements from the series it is based on. While exploring the city, you will encounter unique NPCs whom you can interact with.
The initial beta for A Certain Magical Index started on 22 May 2017, which will end 6 June 2017 in China. No word if the game will be made available overseas.
