Usher in an auspicious Chinese New Year with Azur Lane. The mobile navy shipgirl simulator paints the town red with prosperous new content.
Spearheading the celebrations are the new Dragon Empery ships, Chao Ho and Ying Swei. Both Light Cruisers are based on the Chao Ho class of ships which served under the Republic of China’s Navy.
Joining Chao Ho and Ying Swei in the construction pool is British light cruiser Penelope. She is of the Arethusa class, meaning that she will be the sister of Aurora and Arethusa who are already in the game.
Fortunately, they should not be too difficult to get as they are only Elite rarity. They will be available for a limited time in the light construction pool, where they enjoy a rate up.
Besides gacha-exclusive characters, Chinese New Year in Azur Lane also comes with new events. Players can accumulate points in Happy Lunar New Year 2021. With enough points, players can redeem either Enterprise, Belfast, Taihou, Ping Hai or Ning Hai.
Spring Festival Special Training, Fu Shun’s Great Adventure II and Drawing Book II are three events which have unlockable characters. Completing them will reward players with U-410, Fu Shun and An Shan respectively.
Other events which players can earn reward items are Ying Swei’s Spring Travels and Manjuu Resort. The former even provides players with an outfit for Ying Swei.
One of the biggest additions during this update is the skins. Azur Lane will have 21 new Chinese New Year themed skins. While the L2D skins are certainly impressive, the standout skin from this update is definitely Aurora’s Oath skin. Marrying her now gives players a Chinese wedding dress for the cruiser—a first for the series.
