The top eBaseball Powerful Pro Baseball 2020 players will compete in the Olympic Virtual Series Baseball Tournament on June 23, 2021.
The broadcast of the finals of this sporting event will be available on olympics.com. It will air at 5.00 pm GMT+8 onwards on June 23.
Live commentary will be provided by Japanese professional baseball alumni and announcers who are active in actual baseball broadcasts, bringing the exciting battle for the title of the first ever Olympic Virtual Series champion to the world. Japanese commentary will be provided by Mitsuru Manaka, G.G. Sato and Hisashi Shimizu, while Jim Allen and Yuji Kondo will provide the commentary in English.
There will be two categories for this event—the Home Run Derby for players on the Nintendo Switch and the Baseball Tournament for players on the PlayStation 4. Participation for this event was open to players of any age from Japan, South Korea and Chinese Taipei. The 11 best players from the eBaseball Powerful Pro Baseball Tournament, and the eight best players from the Home Run Derby will be invited to Japan to play the finals live.
The Olympic Virtual Series is the first virtual sports competition organized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in collaboration with five international sports federations.
