After an ill-fated dress-up game in Cardcaptor Sakura: Happiness Memories which shuts down 30 June 2020, Victor Entertainment has announced a new game in Cardcaptor Sakura: Repaint Record! This will be a puzzle game in the vein of Bejewelled, which already sounds more interactive than Happiness Memories. Check out the trailer below:
As is typically the case, Cardcaptor Sakura: Repaint Record will also be featuring an original story following the Clear Card Arc. It has 3D models, promising various iconic outfits for Sakura as you clear the stages. We’re not sure how the cards and summoning themselves will work, or if we’d be fighting against the cards all over again but that’s in there in some form.
Details are pretty light for now, but the game is expected to release some time in 2020. If the summoning animations and costumes are to be the focus, then Sakura might be the only playable character, and she does look to be alone as she does battle. We’ll see when more details will surface, regarding a more concrete release time frame, pre-registration goodies and all the usual stuff.
If nothing else, fans would probably want this game to last longer than Happiness Memories. Keep an eye out for it via its official website.
