Capcom has responded to the outpouring of love for the new character, Lady Dimitrescu, the tall vampire lady from Resident Evil: Village with fun facts about the character’s most defining feature.
According to art director Tomonori Takano, Lady Dimitrescu stands at a whopping 2.9m (9’6″) tall. For context, this puts her at just under the height of a Rathalos, and big enough to be a class of Titan in Attack on Titan.
Fans have been particularly excited about the character since the release of the Resident Evil Village MAIDEN demo, as many people have bravely declared their fetishes for taller women.
There’s also a lot of love for the character’s aesthetic, as the vintage nobility look hasn’t really been explored in great detail by the Resident Evil games. At the end of the MAIDEN demo it’s also revealed that she has a set of huge claws, only further encouraging the bravest of souls to profess their love for Lady Dimitrescu.
Of course, that same demo also implies she makes wine out of the blood of women, but, y’know. Focus on the tall vampire lady at hand here.
Some more storied fans have put aside their fantasies long enough to speculate on her origins as well. While the tweet confirms that she is at the very least a vampire, she bears a lot of similarities to the Tyrants of previous Resident Evil Games. Her gray skin and imposing figure are particularly reminiscent of Mr. X, the Tyrant from Resident Evil 2. The fact that the trailers imply she’ll be in a similar position to X also lends credence to this theory.
Speculations aside, its fun when game developers lean in to fanfare, rather than throwing a fit asking netizens to not be aroused by tall women. Good on Capcom for keeping the hype train going, especially with Resident Evil: Village dropping May 7th, 2021.
