The “10 Years of Dragon’s Dogma” digital event hosted by the game’s director Hideaki Itsuno concluded with the surprise announcement of Dragon’s Dogma II.
The game is currently in development using Capcom’s internal RE Engine which they have used for the recent Resident Evil games, Devil May Cry V and Street Fighter 6.
You can watch the entire digital event below. It’s only 12 and a half minutes long and sees Itsuno going over the history and development of the original game.
More details about the upcoming sequel were revealed in a press release published by Gematsu:
“As Itsuno finished looking back at the origins of Dragon’s Dogma, he gave fans the first look at what lies ahead for the series with the surprise reveal of Dragon’s Dogma II. Itsuno and the Dragon’s Dogma II development team including Dragon’s Dogma veterans Daigo Ikeno and Kenichi Suzuki are hard at work creating the sequel and are excited to share more details in the future.”
There isn’t much information on the game beyond this which likely means that it’s still very early in development.
It has not been announced what consoles the game will be available on, or a general time period when it will be released.
The original Dragon’s Dogma is available on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
