Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Wilds will have a second Open Beta Test (OBT 2) in February, featuring the new returning monster, Gypceros. Players can revisit the game with all the content from the first beta, offering another chance to experience Monster Hunter Wilds before its global release on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
While the upcoming second Wilds open beta will include new challenges and participation bonuses, Capcom confirmed that updates on performance, weapon mechanics, and quality of life improvements from the recent Pre-Launch Community Update won’t be included in this test build. However, OBT 2 will offer crossplay and allow players to carry over character creation data to the full game.
Scheduled in two phases, from February 7-10 and February 14-17, 2025, OBT 2 will include hunts for Gypceros, character creation with carryover capabilities, and the return of content from the first beta, like the Doshaguma hunt and story trial. Participants will also earn exclusive in-game rewards, including an OBT Bonus Pendant and an item pack for use in the full version.
Capcom has expressed gratitude to the community for their ongoing feedback, noting that this beta provides an opportunity to test the game’s network capabilities across platforms and explore new gameplay features before launch.
