Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Announces Launch Date, Opens Pre-Orders

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been announced for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, with a slated launch date of October 25, 2024.

The game is currently available for pre-order on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Microsoft Store, Battle.net, and Steam. It will also be coming to the Xbox Game Pass on Xbox consoles and PC (Microsoft Store only) at launch.

This game will support digital gross-generation compatibility, allowing players to save their progress across different Xbox Series or PlayStation consoles, but not across different consoles such as the Series One with the PlayStation 4.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 1990s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower.

Players who pre-order any edition of Black Ops 6 or have an active Game Pass subscription will secure Early Access to the Black Ops 6 Open Beta.

Players who pre-order a digital edition of Black Ops 6 receive the Woods Operator Pack for use in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. The pack will also be available in Black Ops 6 at launch. Players will instantly receive the Classic Woods Operator Skin as part of the Woods Operator Pack. The pack also includes access to unlock the Zombie Woods and Numbers Woods Operator Skins, which can be unlocked by completing exclusive Challenge Events in Modern Warfare III or Warzone.

An additional digital-only Vault Edition of the game is also up for pre-orders. Available on all platforms or as a $30 USD upgrade option for Game Pass subscribers and players who have already pre-ordered the game, this edition includes the following bonus content:

Activision has confirmed that the game will require users to have a persistent internet connection in order to play the game. This includes the campaign, online multiplayer and Zombies modes.

At launch, Black Ops 6 will have 16 multiplayer maps, including 12 core 6v6 maps and four Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6. It will also feature the return of round-based Zombies, with two brand-new maps available at launch.
