BIC 2025 will take place from August 22 to August 24, 2025, continuing the festival’s tradition of celebrating indie game development and creativity.
While organizers have yet to reveal the exact location for BIC 2025, they made the announcement following a highly successful Busan Indie Connect Festival 2024, which marked the festival’s 10th anniversary. The 2024 event, held at BEXCO in Busan, saw a significant increase in participation, featuring 245 indie game projects from 27 countries – a 20% year-on-year increase in submissions.
Busan Indie Connect Festival has grown substantially since its inception in 2015, evolving from a showcase of 78 games from 8 countries to become Korea’s largest indie game festival. The 2023 event attracted 18,576 visitors, representing a 681% increase in attendance since the festival’s beginnings.
The annual gathering has become a pivotal event for indie game developers and enthusiasts, offering a platform for showcasing new talents and fostering connections within the indie gaming community. In addition to the physical event, Busan Indie Connect Festival 2024 also featured an extended online component, running from August 9th to 30th on the official Busan Indie Connect Festival website.
