Fashion and luxury brand Burberry is collaborating with mobile MOBA game Honor of Kings aka Arena of Valor internationally. As a result of this collaboration, Burberry chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci designed two skins for the in-game character Yao. You can check them out below:
This high fashion collaboration adds the ‘Spirit of Nature’ skin and ‘Spirit of Forest & Ocean’ Legend skin for Yao. The trench coat and trousers of the latter are purchasable online and in retail in mainland China. The former is an exclusive design that is not available for purchase.
These designs are Tisci’s first foray into video game character design. He expressed the following:
“I am excited to see how technology has found a way to build and nurture the core human needs of personal and emotional connections. Honor of Kings has created an incredible digital world where we can find a new way to dream with our Burberry community. The power of creativity is that it can open spaces and push boundaries, and I am so excited to have designed exclusive skins that will bring Burberry house codes into this immersive universe.”
While Burberry is known by many as a high fashion brand, the company actually has experience in developing video games. Burberry launched its first online game, B Bounce, back in October of last year. Other video game titles under Burberry’s belt include Ratberry and B Surf. All of these titles were developed in-house by Burberry’s digital teams.
