Square Enix has announced Bravely Default Brilliant Lights, the mobile spinoff of their RPG series. The game will release on Android and iOS in Japan, with no plans currently for a western release.
No release date has been given for the title, and all current information is just speculation from the game’s teaser trailer.
The game was announced via a teaser trailer, which features snippets of gameplay for the mobile game. The teaser was released to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Bravely Default.
From what we’ve seen, it looks like Brilliant Lights will be carrying many of what makes Bravely Default so beloved to the mobile platform, such as its unique Brave and Default system allowing characters to take extra turns.
Considering it’s a mobile game, though, it’s not known if you’ll get more of the game’s jobs and sub-classes in a similar fashion to the main games, or if it will be tied to some form of Gacha system.
This isn’t the first time Square Enix has announced a mobile spinoff of one of their popular JRPGs. Octopath Traveller also had a mobile release, which visually looked almost identical to its base game.
Bravely Default has gotten two mainline sequels following its release a decade ago, with Bravely Second and Bravely Default II.
