Bravely Default Brilliant Lights has begun a closed beta test for Android devices in Japan. Bravely Default Brilliant Lights will run its closed beta from 21 July 2021, 15:00 JST to 28 July 2021, 15:00 JST. It’s limited to 5,000 players at a first come, first served basis, available to Square Enix members.
Going by the splash page, they go through the regular disclaimers of assets subject to change, with data not being able to be carried over to the full release. The recommended specifications list Android 6.0 or later, with 4GB RAM or more.
Both new and reappearing characters will be appearing in the game. From the teaser screenshots, it looks pretty much like how Bravely Default 2 looks like, except maybe a little simpler. There’s no release window for the game stated on the closed beta page, which we assume should be Japan only first much like Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent.
The closed beta is supposed to be encompassing tests regarding the basic gameplay, quest progression, system comprehension, game balancing, server load and the like. As you might expect, it’s meant to be geared towards Japanese residents to accordingly provide feedback for the game.
We’ll stay tuned to see how the gameplay works once people get the chance to try out the beta.
