Bravely Default 2 got a release date at last night’s surprise Nintendo Direct Mini. The game will be releasing on Nintendo Switch February 26th, 2021.
In addition to the announcement, Square Enix put out a new video in which the game’s developers address feedback from the game’s demo. These include UI elements such as letting you know details about allied characters turns, similar to an Active Time Battle.
Fans who pre-order the game will receive a code for a Digital soundtrack of the game. The soundtrack was done by Revo, who also composed the soundtracks for Bravely Default and Bravely Second. Anime fans might also recognize his work with Sound Horizon on the Attack on Titan Series.
The game will also be getting a physical release, though Square Enix says to wait for more details regarding the physical release.
Bravely Default was an RPG that released on the 3DS. The game’s clever plot and old-school mechanics gave it a cult following, and the success of the game allowed the developers to make Bravely Second. Due to the shift in naming convention, some fans are wondering about the significance of the number in Bravely Default 2.
Fans will simply have to wait until the game comes out in 2021.
