One month ago the long-awaited announcement of Borderlands 3 finally arrived, and now we have another good news to share! In partnership with Twitch, Gearbox Software and 2K have announced the official Twitch extension for Borderlands 3 – the Borderlands 3 ECHOcast Extension.
This special extension allows Twitch viewers to interact with Borderlands 3 live streams. You can look through your favourite streamers’ loadouts and backpacks, you can also poke around their skill trees. Special loot chests will be available throughout the game too, which it will kickoff opt-in events when a streamer unlock one.
With the extension, you can even score your own in-game items by participating in the events with other viewers. You get a chance to score a copy of one item such as a gun, a shield or a grenade mod from the Rare Chest the streamer opens. Whenever a Rare Chest is opened, one lucky viewer will receive a SHiFT code that can be redeemed for the specific item they select from the chest.
Borderlands 3 ECHOcast Extension will go live from May 2, just in time for the Borderlands 3 Worldwide Gameplay Reveal Event on Borderlands’ Twitch channel at 1:00 AM (GMT+8). Streamers from around the world will be playing and live streaming the game for the first time too so stay tuned!
