Two major content updates will soon be arriving to Borderlands 3, featuring Takedown at the Guardian Breach – a a new endgame gauntlet designed to put your skills and gear to the ultimate test – coming free on 4 June, and Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption, coming 25 June as the third paid campaign add-on.
As with an earlier Takedown, Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite, the new Takedown will scale accordingly to the number of players in your party, but will push four leveled-up Vault Hunters to the limit nonetheless. Take on a reconnaissance mission to the planet of Minos Prime to locate the source of a mysterious Guardian signal. On arrival, you’ll be besieged by a sect of rogue Guardians who have irrevocably transformed Minos Prime.
New enemies, low-gravity platforming sections and environmental puzzles will be bumps on your way to the miniboss and a final boss encounter. Survive, and be rewarded with a host of new items including themed weapons, gear, and collectible cosmetics.
Besides that, the Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption third campaign add-on was revealed: with an all-new setting, and an entirely new cast of characters, accompanied by an unseen narrator who will commentate on your adventure.
Travel to the harsh desert planet of Gehenna to claim a bounty on The Devil Riders, vicious gang of bandits that’s been terrorizing the small town of Vestige. Find fresh faces like Rose, a warrior who’s adept with pistol and katana alike, and Juno, a rough-and-tumble brawler with a checkered past. Your actions will have a direct impact on Vestige and its denizens, as you help build the town back up through story missions and Crew Challenges alike.
You’ll also find several gameplay additions:
- Customizable JetBeast hoverbike to traverse the open plains, outfitted with artillery like dual machine guns and mortar weapons
- Four brand new interactive objects
- Traitorweed: temporarily turn enemies into allies when shot
- Breezebloom: boost your Vault Hunter to great heights so you can reach otherwise-out-of-reach areas
- New, Western-themed loot
Be it for bounty or for simple takedown, look forward to the updates in Borderlands 3. Also check out the teaser for the fourth campaign add-on here.
