Bocchi the Rock! Movie Coming to GSC Cinemas, ODEX Malaysia & Brunei Confirms

ODEX Malaysia & Brunei has posted on Facebook the poster for Bocchi the Rock! Recap Part 1 and it will be premiering in GSC Cinemas. No announcement dates have been mentioned yet.

The movie premiered in Japan on June 7, 2024 and debuted at the top of the weekend box office, earning 218 million yen (1.39 million USD) from 140,000 admissions during its first three days from June 7-9, according to Kogyo Tsushinsha. The second recap film, Bocchi the Rock! Recap Part 2 is scheduled for release in Japan on August 9, 2024.

Premise of Bocchi the Rock!

Bocchi the Rock! is a story about a shy and introverted high school girl named Hitori Gotou, who dreams of becoming a successful guitarist in a band. Despite her social anxiety and lack of confidence, she practices the guitar diligently in her room. Her life takes a turn when she meets Nijika Ijichi, a cheerful and outgoing drummer, who invites her to join a band called “Kessoku Band.” Together with the other band members, Hitori embarks on a journey of friendship, growth, and musical achievements, overcoming her fears and discovering the joy of performing on stage.
