Lilith Walther’s Bloodborne PSX Demake is now available for download, ironically enough being the closest fans have gotten to Bloodborne on PC.
For months Walther has been teasing fans with clips of the Bloodborne PSX Demake, which sees From Software’s Gothic Horror game given an old school coat of paint.
You can download the title for free from Itch.Io, which supports both controller and mouse and keyboard controls, and even uses Dpad controls to really mimic the PSX experience.
“Thank you for the support over the 13 month dev period. It means so much to me“, she says.
It should be noted that the game is 100% a fan project, and has no relation for From Software or PlayStation Studios.
PSX-style visuals aside, the game is a pretty 1:1 recreation of From Software’s Bloodborne. It’s obviously very proud of this, as the trailer shows iconic moments from the game’s story such as the fight against Father Gascoigne and the Cleric Beast.
In the spirit of the PSX era of games, Walther also released a list of cheatcodes for the game to really kick up your experience.
- SOCKEM – unarmed gets a small damage boost
- TOPHEAVY – big head mode
- YESYOUCAN – pet dog mode
- CONVOLUTED – alter time with the right stick
- SPLATSILVER – paintball mode
- ICHANGEDMYMINDTO + [text] – change your name
- WHATIFITWAS + [text] – change ‘you died’ text
Bloodborne has a special place in the Soulsborne community, largely due in part to the fact that the game never launched outside of the PS4. The mix of high praise and limited ways to play it created a much more passionate fanbase, eager to get the game on PC where more people can play it.
