In a tweet today, Bloodborne PSX creator Lilith tweeted that she would be working on a racing spinoff of From Software’s popular gothic horror RPG.
“It’s happening, #BloodborneKart is real and will be coming out as soon as it’s ready!“, says Lilith.
The game is being made in the same visual style as the PSX demake, which took the original Bloodborne and remade it within the constraints of a PS1 game, complete with CRT filters.
The announcement coincides with Bloodborne’s 7th anniversary, which sees many fans celebrating the first new Soulsborne game since Dark Souls got popular enough to have numbered sequel .
Bloodborne Kart has been an ongoing meme within the Bloodborne community, who were eager for PlayStation to allow any kind of revisit into the PS4-exclusive Soulsborne title.
Over on reddit, various Bloodborne fans have already taken to speculating how Lillith will re-envision Bloodborne’s horrific cast of characters as wacky racers, such as the boss Martyr Logarius using his wheel weapon named after him as some sort of vehicle.
“Gehrman’s car is just his wheelchair with rockets strapped to it, Happy Wheels style.”, writes another redditor.
Now that one PlayStation exclusive has gotten its karting spinoff, it’s only a matter of time before someone else finally pulls Unkarted into our waking world.
